“Game of Thrones Theme Song” (Cover) - Marissa Nadler

For those of you reveling in the third season right now, here’s a more timbrous version of your favorite theme song. It’s like the show has been moved to the Zelda universe and kissed quietly to sleep. Misleadingly peaceful for how bloody this season will undoubtedly be.

Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz didn’t f**k around during the Disney Renaissance.

My favourite Victor Hugo-related soundtrack.

Yeah you heard me, Schönberg.

Once upon a December. Anastasia in Russian.  This would be the language that she would have sang in. Everything just seems more genuine and real.

crossing essos: a journey across the eastern continent through music
(click photos to enlarge) [map from here]

in case anyone missed the memo, i love essos. probably more than westeros, to be honest. there’s still so much left unexplored and frankly, the diversity in cultures and all the awful problems (and wonderful things!) about all the various places are incredibly interesting to me. it’s shame we’ve really only had a few POV insights into what it’s like outside Braavos from those few foreigner characters that either want to conquer it or are just plain depressed and on the run. but i’m not going to get into any capital ‘I’ Issues. i just want to share my love! originally i had meant to just have walking rhythm songs to accompany a land journey across the dothraki sea (my favourite place) but slowly it turned into a full scope traverse from the narrow sea all the way to asshai.
